British Hairdressing Award Finalist 2011 – Sanrizz International Creative Director Leonardo Rizzo
Leonardo Rizzo of Guildford’s Sanrizz is one of the six finalists for the Avant Garde Hairdresser of the Year Award in HJ’s 2011 British Hairdressing Awards.
The British Hairdressing Awards, launched in 1984 by Hairdressers Journal International, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professionals have celebrated and rewarded the best of British hairdressing creativity for 27 years and are renowned internationally as the ‘Oscars’ of the hairdressing world. To enter the competition, hairdressers working in salons throughout the United Kingdom have to submit four images, which fulfil the criteria.
Leonardo entered the Avant-Garde Hairdresser of the Year category and has secured a place in the final of the Awards. He will now have to submit another four images, which will be judged along with the first four by industry experts, members of the British Hairdressing Awards Hall of Fame and hair journalists from the most influential, and fashion aware consumer magazines. “Each year the standard of entries in each category becomes more creative and inspirational,” comments Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Hairdressers Journal International, Jayne Lewis-Orr.

“British hairdressing is perceived throughout the world as being the best, and the British Hairdressing Awards recognise and reward creativity and excellence in hairdressing skills. Leonardo is a very worthy finalist.” Leonardo will have to wait until Monday, the 28th of November 2011, to find out if he will be awarded the title of Avant Garde Hairdresser of the Year, when he attends a glittering awards ceremony hosted by a leading media personality at the Grosvenor House Hotel, a JW Marriot Hotel in London.
Finalist, Leonardo added “ I was delighted when I received my letter telling me I had made it to the finals. This year has been an incredible one for the salon. To be recognised by your peers as being one of the country’s leading hairdressers and being involved in the British Hairdressing Awards is both a wonderful feeling and a great achievement.”
